Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thailand fighter in the UFC's flyweight division. She is older than fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as an Muay Thai kickboxer. She debuted in 2003 at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner of the tournament and defeated Suzane Milliner in a unanimous vote. Antonina was awarded a medal of silver in 2007 and a medal of bronze in 2008 and then a gold in the year 2011. Antonina was also named IFMA World Amateur Muay Thai Champion 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia launched her professional career back in 2003. She has taken home numerous awards, such as the K-1 World Championships, the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships as well as the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's last fight was against Isa Tidblad-Keskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by unanimity. Antonina shevchenko won her debut professional MMA fight in 2002 against Anara bayanova at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She won via second-round TKO followed by 2 more fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships to earn a 3-0 record. Shevchenko dedicated herself to kickboxing as she took a prolonged absence in MMA. She was back in 2017, when she fought Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko was victorious against Anissa Haddaoui with the unanimous verdict. She later defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by a unanimous decision. She left the club and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko was able to take on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina's superior strike skills allowed her to TKO Nievera via knees in the back of her. Antonina's UFC contract was re-extended after this win. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took the win by unanimous decision, but she lost her next fight against Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from her loss and beat Lucie Puddilova in UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submissions in the 2nd round. The bout earned Antonina the Fight of the Night bonus. Shevchenko lost to Katlyn along with Andrea Lee in three of her subsequent fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski, but was also defeated by Ariane. Antonina recently lost by TKO in the second round, losing to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
