Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. She also was an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, explains the basics of cooking that anybody can learn. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of New York's top restaurants, has studied the Italian food and culture, and was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food from an early age. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing experience for me. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduating at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy she gained an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This will have a significant impact on the way she approaches her cuisine. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. Additionally, she is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate, where she has a mission to raise awareness for juvenile diabetics. As a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the U.S. to share her passion for cooking as well as her profession. Anne in all her experience in the kitchen, has declared that it is a privilege to be in a position to share this passion for the food industry with people.
